![]() My original board had a pot with a scratchy channel which always bothered me, the new one does not. It took them a while to get around to it but I eventually got it back in working order. I emailed Schiit back and forth multiple times and got them to take it in for service. ![]() I had been using this power supply with an SMSL Sanskrit 10th for months with no issues. I'm not sure if that charger put out a spike of high voltage on the USB connection, but when I plugged in the laptop the Hel just stopped working and wouldn't work again afterwards. I was using it with an aftermarket power supply, which was actually an HP laptop charger with USB output. I should mention that my Hel was sent back to Schiit for a full board replacement. However the recently updated Audient iD4 looks nice and the specs on the headphone output are quite good, so I would consider it as well. Pro style interfaces are compatible with typical microphones but I really don't need anything like that for work, the cheap electret type mics that are compatible with the Hel are good enough. ![]() Interfaces like the Motu M2 provide more functionality for the price but their headphone outputs are lacking in performance and I didn't necessarily want a pro interface at work. The measurements provided by Schiit showed it to be a competent performer. I got it because I wanted a high performance headphone amplifier with a mic input and preamp output. It is on my desk at work where I use it for virtual meetings and listening to music via headphones or speakers. ![]()
